Jordan Witzigreuter, better known by his stage name, The Ready Set is back on Vans Warped Tour for his second year since 2011.  With Fans eager to hear their favourite songs from his newest record The Bad & The Better, The Ready set is and act you must catch on this year’s warped tour. Stephanie Puccinelli, one of our correspondents had the opportunity to sit down with him to chat about how the 2014 Warped Tour was playing out this time around.

So this is your second year back on Warped tour, how has it been different compared to the last time you were here?
Its actually been a lot better for us, this year there are a lot of bands that have like kind of similar fan base to us, so there is a lot of cross over in that sense and there are a lot of friends on tour. The crowds so far have been awesome, everything has been a blast so far… I can’t complain.

What can people expect from your Warped Tour performance?
A lot of energy! As far as my set goes, I only do fast songs pretty much and I push a lot of stuff together so there aren’t really any breaks, so everything from beginning to end is just good times

Would you say that interacting with your fans is one of the more important aspects of Warped Tour?
Yeah I would definitely say it’s an important part! I try and do meet & greets everyday and say hello to people but I mean it’s a 50/50 thing. You gotta kill it on stage and then you gotta be a human, so meeting fans is a great way to get out there and have interaction with people you might not meet if it wasn’t for Warped.

A lot of your songs are very upbeat and positive… so it’s raining right now, how do you stay positive on tour?
I just usually wear a poncho like this one or walk around in a trash bag and you know just kill it, I just live in the rain. I don’t know the rain doesn’t really bug me too much. I’m just hoping they don’t cancel the outdoor stages cause then we wouldn’t get to play and I would be kinda bummed

How do you as The Ready Set, go the XTRA mile?
Well I try and catch people off guard honestly as far as playing our shows. It’s not really what you would expect, I feel like I never really fit in genre wise like if we play a rock show, we are too pop and if we play like a radio pop show its far to rocky feeling and I don’t know it’s not the type of show you would expect from a pop band. So I just try and go crazy on stage, just have a good time.

Is anything you would like to tell your fans/our readers?
Yeah! I just put out a new record called The Bad & The Better Last month and I have a single from that called Higher (check it out below) that we are working on right now and the videos up for that. You can get the album on iTunes, also I will be touring all of the fall so that will be announced really soon.
