Electro-pop group “Kate Boy” rocks the Drake Underground

Any music coming out of Sweden, it’s bound to be a earful. One of the latest electro-pop music group Kate Boy, which consist of members Kate Akhurst(Originally from Australia), Hampus Nordgren Hemlin, and Markus Dextegen. On Wednesday, October 22, the trio perfromed their second show ever in Toronto at the Drake Underground. Note, this is the same venue acts like Tove Lo, and KT Tunstall  first got their start. Any hipster would love Kate Boy’s catchy pop, electro beats, and where songs like “Norther Lights” is slowly hitting up the internet in a storm.

The trio started off their set with “In your eyes” and kept the audience dancing all throughout their 40 minute set. The audience got to hear some singles like “Self-Control,” “Parallel,” “Higher,” and their new single “Open Fire.” They ended their set with Akhurt’s amazing dance moves to “The Way we are”.
