Canada welcomed seven new inductees into its Walk of Fame during the 2014 Tribute Show. Hosted by Jason Priestley, a lineup of Canadian all star presenters and performers entertained an audience of 500 and welcomed new inductees live onstage on Oct. 18. As of now, there are 157 total Canadians who have been inducted into the Walk of Fame.

Perhaps the most raved about celebrity guests that had onlookers and bloggers hyping up the event were actors Ryan Reynolds and Rachel McAdams, two new inductees this year.

On the red (yellow) carpet, organized by Holmes PR (who were very hospitable), Jason Priestly said that Canadian actress Tatiana Maslany was the “one to watch” and critically acclaimed actress Wendy Crewson supported Canadian designer Stephan Karas in her larger-than-life pink statement gown.

During the show, a sense of Canadian pride and national identity filled the auditorium. It was, after all, the 50th anniversary of the Canadian flag!

Audience were entertained with video cuts to the likes of Anna Kendrick, Hugh Jackman and Jeff Bridges honouring our Canadian stars. Other entertainment came in the form of a Jeff Healey “Angel Eyes” tribute and also with the show closing with new inductees The Band performing.
