The 2014 Canadian Screen Awards

This past weekend, the Canadian Academy of Film and Television celebrated their 65th anniversary by hosting the second annual Canadian Screen Awards at the Sony Centre of Performing Arts.

Recognizing and celebrating the amazing Canadian talent, Martin Short once again hosted the show for the second time in a row. We must say he was a fabulous host and kept the crowd hyped and laughing all through out the show.

The Xtra Mile had the opportunity to attend the show, and it’s really amazing to see how far Canada has come in the Film and Television industry. Orphan Black may have lost at the Golden Globe’s, but it certainly did not get overlooked at the Canadian Screen Awards taking home 10 golden statues. Enemy, and Call Me Mr. Fitz were some other big winners that night.

We also had a chance to run into some of the star talent who presented today at the reception party afterwards. Talents such as Jessica Lowndes, Zoie Palmer, Dillon Casey, Jessica Pare, Viggo Mortensen, Jay Baruchel, Katie Boland, Shay Mitchell, and even Tatiana Maslany were in attendance. We obviously could not pass up a chance to speak to them!

We want to thank everyone involved to hold such an amazing night. It’s definitely something the Xtra Mile will never forget!
