Boots & Hearts 2019 closes the weekend off strong (SUNDAY HIGHLIGHTS)

Boots and Hearts 2019 review

Last Day at our favourite Stompin’ Grounds.

Sunday we ditched the delicious options of poutine trucks and headed over to hang out in the VIP section. The energy on the barn side is always just as fun, but with different food and alcohol options to choose from.

We enjoyed the day and loved to watch Tim Hicks from stage right. This countryman sure knows how to set the mood as he was the second last act of the night. With an awesome setlist that included, “Stompin Ground”, “Stronger Beer”, “What A Song Should do” and “Get by”, it set great energy for the evening to come.

He’s been climbing up the pop Top 40 and Country radio charts with “One Thing Right” ft Marshmellow. Kane Brown was my personal favourite of the entire festival! The thing that was most endearing to witness as a first time seeing him live, was his humility. The way he genuinely spoke to the crowd about his gratitude towards the feedback of his new music was so humbling. Additionally, the way he spoke about life and music, you can truly see the excitement that he is on in both his personal life and career. Brown went on to shout out his wife and 2 kids and let us all know he is expecting once again! The most heartwarming mental picture when listening to his latest song “One Thing Right.”

Overall his setlist was the perfect combination of radio hits and older songs with favourites like Heaven, There Goes My Everything, Good As You, What If and Short Skirt Weather. With the beautiful sun setting behind the singer, it was quite a scenery to watch and listen to Brown perform.

After enjoying some Spanish flavours of burritos, nachos and Flor de Caña rum, we buckled in for a sharp 9:30 pm start of Sunday’s headliner.

To close the festival off was one of the countries biggest artist, Jason Aldean.

Perfectly put, as he said, “In case some of you have never been to one of my shows before, I usually like to get the slower songs out of the way in the beginning so that the second half we can party.” Boy did he deliver on that!

Jason Aldean sure did send Boots & Hearts off with exceptional performance with the help of his fun, talented band members and stage lighting and FX.  Starting the first half of the performance with songs like “Drowns The Whisky”, “Rearview Town” and “You Make It Easy”, it was absolutely captivating to watch him with a cold drink in hand and the entire crowd singing along. Jason’s dance moves and funny characteristics made an easy transition into the party half of the set, as he shotgunned a beer on stage. You really did feel like he was right in the middle of your party! Sending us off with Dirt Road Anthem, the drive home was a bittersweet one, “reminiscing on the good times” of Boots & Hearts 2019.

We can’t wait for next year!
