Top events happening in Toronto (AUGUST EDITION)

Another long weekend to start off our final month before we go back to school and get the most of this heat! Here are some of the top events happening in the city this month!

August 3-4: VELD Music Festival

VELD Music Festival is an annual electronic dance music and hip-hop music festival held at Downsview Park in Toronto, Ontario. Since its inception in 2012, the festival attracts crowds numbering in the tens of thousands and notable acts including Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Steve Aoki, and Tiesto.

August 3- 11: Rogers Cup Toronto

The Canadian Open is an annual tennis tournament held in Canada. The third-oldest tournament in all of tennis, the Canadian Open’s men’s competition is a Masters 1000 event on the Association of Tennis Professionals tour. The women’s competition is a Premier 5 tournament on the Women’s Tennis Association tour.

August 1-4 : Caribana Weekend

CaribanaToronto.com advertises and sells tickets to the majority of Caribbean inspired events and parties taking place over Caribana 2019 weekend. Toronto’s Caribbean Caribana festival has grown exponentially since its start in 1967 and is currently North America’s largest cultural festival. What was once a three-day event has now grown into three weeks of celebration, absorbing most of the city with its infectious feel-good vibes.

August 8-11: Boots & Hearts

August 22- 25: Fan Expo Canada

Fan Expo Canada is the largest comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming event in Canada and the third-largest in North America. Packed with exciting family-friendly activities, cosplay, and celebrity guests.

August 23- 24 Toronto Cider Festival

The Toronto Cider Festival is an award-winning annual festival and the largest of its kind in Canada.

Initially established in 2015, the festival was born from a professional friendship between a professor and a recent graduate, that extended beyond the classroom. A family-run endeavor, guided by heart, passion, and a lot of perseverance, owners Ijaz Jamal, Chris Palivan, and Shalini Soares are responsible for leading the vision to create an unforgettable cider experience in the heart of downtown Toronto.
