Shady Queens: The Shequel hit Toronto

THE LIBRARY IS OPEN, HENNYS! The Xtra Mile has ALL the T (no shade) from the sold out Shady Queens: The Shequel show in support of Fife House.

The lineup was stacked with RuPaul’s Drag Race  winners including Sharon Needles, Jinkx Monsoon, Violet Chachki, Bob the Drag Queen, Season 7 Miss Congeniality and All Stars 2 runner up, Katya and host Ginger Minj.

From meeting Bob’s infamous assistant Louis, to Ginger’s shade and Katya’s ADHD, this show was made of Drag Race Fan dreams. The audience

Ginger was the perfect choice to host, throwing a little shade and getting the crowd excited.

Sharon Needles. After seeing her live for the first time, we would never tell her to go back to Party City. Plus her new single Battle Axe is bomb.

Walking on the stage (not purse first), was none other than Bob the Drag Queen. We’ve always loved Bob and it was so exciting to finally catch a live performance. Bob is a natural, and seeing her live, finally, solidified what we already knew – Bob is a star.

Violet gave us the burlesque show that we didn’t know we needed. She was mesmerizing and we couldn’t take our eyes off of her, and I think the audience would agree!

Katya’s rendition of Khia’s My Neck, My Back had us wanting MORE. She is all sorts of batshit crazy (in the best way possible) and always delivers.

I don’t think there’s a talent that Jinkx Monsoon lacks. She stole the show with her quick wit and humour and absolutely amazing vocals.

A huge thank you to Fife House for having us. Check out Fife House and all of the amazing work that they do to support people living with HIV/AIDS at www.fifehouse.org.

We’re so excited to see what next years event has in store, but until then….Sashay away!
