Highlights of the 2017 Restaurants Canada Show

The highly anticipated Restaurants Canada Show returned to Toronto’s Enercare Centre on February 26. Featuring over 1000 food, beverage and hospitality exhibitors, this three day trade show allowed professionals to network, discover new trends in the restaurant industry and participate in exclusive off-site experiences.

From endless food and beverage samples, to guest speakers and cocktail competitions, there was no shortage of fun to be had at the largest hospitality show of the year!

The show started on the sweet note with a macarons from AG Macarons.  With flavours such as strawberry cream and matcha green tea, these pretty treats are sure to please! AG Macarons has two locations in Toronto.

We were in for another sweet surprise when we visited Farmery Estate Brewery’s booth and tried their new pink “lemonale” beer! With just the right amount of sweetness, this beer was refreshing and would be perfect for patio season.  Farmery was featured on Dragon’s Den and they tell us they hope to be available in LCBOs across Ontario soon.

We loved Simply Simple’s new line of crackers and dips! Cottage cheese based dips in flavours such as tomato and basil and chipotle lime make the perfect healthy snack when paired with their crispy crackers.

In celebration of Canada 150, we couldn’t miss highlighting Sprucewood Handmade Cookie Co’s beautiful new packaging!

We love Sprucewood for their delicious cookies in both savoury and sweet varieties. They make a great hostess gift too!

We also had the chance to get a lot of great insight from “Phone Eats First” – a panel discussion on social media trends for the restaurant industry hosted and moderated by Sean Beckingham, President of Branding & Buzzing with expert panelists from Facebook Canada, Home of the Brave and Off the Menu.

One of the points that stood out to us most is that the average person has an 8 second attention when they view content, so make sure your content is captivating and something that you would want to see yourself.

Businesses can also benefit from checking out www.Facebook.com/blueprint – this will allow you to get an overview of how all of Facebook’s business tools work so you can leverage them for your brand.
