Amazon Upfront 2026: Michael Bublé, NBA, God of War, Fallout & More New Shows Announced
Prime Video unveiled an incredible and ambitious new slate of content, both Canadian and international during its 2026 Amazon Upfront presentation, highlighting a mix of original series, documentaries, reality competitions, and major international productions.
Among the newly announced Canadian originals was Hometown Giants, which follows Michael Bublé and Drew Scott as they enter the high-pressure world of junior hockey as part-owners of the Vancouver Giants. Across six episodes, the series explores the sacrifices, pressures, and life-changing decisions faced by teenage athletes chasing NHL dreams. and based on the trailer alone is going to be so much fun for hockey fans and docu-series fans equally. Bublé and Scott were in attendance to make the announcement, making the news even more exciting for audience members.

Other titles include survival competition series Surrender (working title) a survival competition show which places contestants (made up of regular outdoors enthusiasts) in the remote Canadian wilderness, where unpredictable rules and extreme conditions test their physical and emotional limits. Hosted and executive produced by Scott McGillivray, the eight-episode series is set to begin production this fall.
For the true crime fans out there, they showed us a clip of a new documentary The Pig Farm Killer: Robert Pickton (working title) which revisits the infamous case through newly uncovered archives and interviews exploring how Pickton evaded capture for years while women disappeared from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Prime Video also introduced new French-language projects including Complètement dans le champ (Heels in the Hay) and Opération déception (Operation Deception), a two-part documentary following journalist Patrick Lagacé and investigative reporter Victor Malarek as they examine the controversial undercover operation that led to Quebec forestry student Alain Olivier being sentenced to death in Thailand in 1989. They also confirmed the return of LOL: Qui Rira Le Dernier? for a fifth season.

A show I am very excited for is Young Farts Trailer Parts, executive produced by Jacob Tierney and premiering July 17. This show follows small-town brothers Jagger and Dawson as they run Young Farts RV Parts, a multi-million-dollar business where they turn trailer trash into cash. We got to watch the hilarious new trailer with the brothers in attendance, proving to the audience why fans of shows like Letterkenny and Shoresy are going to love this show.
Two shows that I am also excited about are Elle, a prequel to Legally Blonde following Elle Woods through her time at Harvard (already renewed for a second season) and we got to see the first glimpse of the new God of War, which is adapted from the hit game. The 15 seconds we got to watch looked absolutely incredible, and fans are going to be so happy.

Speaking of epic stories, Charlie Vickers who plays Smaug in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was in attendance to share his perspectives on the new season of the smash hit show, which has Lord of the Rings fans craving for more.
One of the biggest pieces of news that we got was the confirmation that the NBA will be streaming games on Prime for basketball fans across Canada. The NBA deal includes 66 regular season games, the Emirates NBA Cup 2026, exclusive playoff coverage, and Conference Finals broadcasts beginning in 2027. Raptors legend Kyle Lowry was in attendance to share the news because he will be taking on a new role as panelist for post game commentary. The 2026 WNBA season launched on Prime Video on May 14, while the NBA schedule for the 2026–2027 season will be announced at a later date.
Other exciting new and returning favourites include Fallout, which adds Aaron Paul for Season Three, and Reacher, recently renewed for a fifth season. Additional upcoming titles include Ride or Die starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, The Terminal List Season Two starring Chris Pratt, and holiday comedy The Man With the Bag featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Amazon has proven, once again, why they are ranked one of the top digital service providers in Canada, and I for one am excited to sit down and watch all these incredible offerings!
