Fan Expo takes over the Metro Convention Centre
Nerds rejoice! Almost every anime, horror and sci-fi lovers were spotted at the 2014 Fan Expo which took place at the Metro Convention Centre on August 28-31st.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the expo had some amazing guests this year such as Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries), Jon Heder (Napolean Dynamite), Matt Smith(Doctor Who), Elijah Wood ( Lord of the Rings), Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead), Norman Reedus(The Walking Dead), Stan Lee, and a lot more! Each celebrity guests had their own table for signings and slotted times for photo ops which ranged from $60-$120.
Some great features of the event were the Fan Expo Speed dating, Cosplay,fan expo gaming tournament, and even exhibits of hit shows such as Orphan Black.
Exhibitors also had the chance to showcase to guests exclusive items and collections. Getting into the expo itself costs $50 and buying collectibles, most guests spent over $100 on just one day alone.
Fan Expo runs every year at the Metro Convention Centre, and this is an event that every nerd should check out. Whether you’re a gaming geek or not, there are lots of amazing celebrities who attend. The event being almost sold out each year, it’s definitely worth checking out.
