Amberwood… not only is it the name of the street they grew up on, but it is a very hard working band from Waterloo, Ontario. Amberwood consists of childhood friends Colin, Cam, Oli and Wes, who bring a guitar driven, alternative rock sound to the stage.

While touring all over southern Ontario, and releasing their newest EP ‘Now and Then,’ Amberwood does a hell of a job producing and performing catchy yet emotional and meaningful lyrics to their songs. Amberwood is definitely a band worth listening to, as we were lucky enough to catch their set at The Hideout during Canadian Music Week.

The energy  brought by the band on stage was contagious. They were all in the exact same mind set and genuinely feeling the emotions of the lyrics as they perform each one. Some were worth dancing along too, while others you just had to soak up and really listen to the lyrics. The songs they played consisted of many new songs that they wanted help determining what the crowd would like to see on
their next EP, as well as playing some older and crowd favourites such as “Out of this Place,” and closing the set with their emotionally raw single ‘Coming Home.’

The Xtra Mile first saw Amberwood this past year at Indie Week in Toronto, and this time around at CMW. We were able to chat with the band and get to know their story a little better. Check it out in the video below!
