Happy 2015!! Better late than never. It’s officially been a whole year since the first official launch of The Xtra Mile, and we couldn’t have done this without all our amazing readers and friends.

Just wanted to say a quick thank my co-founder Reem Chahrour, couldn’t have started this without you! I apologize for the lack of updates recently, but we are super busy with school and work lives, and we couldn’t have done this without some of our amazing contributors. Anthony Ou, thanks for covering all the events I couldn’t attend! Stephanie Puccinelli, you really bring out the best of the music portion of this blog. Melissa Campo and Sharon McDonald , thanks for covering the Niagara events. Lucas Wieckowski, my photographer partner in crime. Abdullah Mir, thanks for covering some great film reviews. Eva Beylin, also for covering some great festivals . And Julie Craig, for always making sure the blog looks great! A huge special thank you to my good friend and blogger Will Wong as well.  Also, a huge thank you to distributors such as EOne, Strut Entertainment, Rockitpromo, AudioBlood, Holmes PR, EarshotMedia, Butter, Live Nation, and so many more!

I also wanted to quickly review some of the best 2014 moments. First off, our first ever interview with Luke Bilyk from Degrassi. Then of course, our encounter with Tom Hiddleston! Where would we be without our amazing Hiddlestoners. This post was our greatest hit, so thank you guys. Our interview with the amazing Deadmau5, he is one of my favorite acts ever. Next, can’t forget our little getaway for the MET Gala in New York City. The Joe Carter classic party, where we had the chance to interview some great talent such as Toronto Maple Leaf’s Joffrey Lupul. One of my favorite events, Digital Dreams, where I had the once in a lifetime chance to interview Dash Berlin. Finally, the 2014 Gourmet’s Food and Wine show.

Once again, thank you everyone so much. It’s really tough to constantly update this blog, but we are trying our best. Our goal for this year is to update the blog more frequently, and try to get as much coverage as possible. Please let us know in the comments below what you guys want to see more of in 2015!!

All the best, and hoping to a better 2015!

Cheers

Michelle
