TOMFW’18 Opening Party at Rebel Nightclub

As Toronto welcomed some of the world’s most creative individuals to its utopian corner of North America for the start of TOM FW ‘18 (Toronto Men’s Fashion Week), all eyes were on focused on the highly anticipated Opening Party. Thankfully, in true TOM fashion, it did not disappoint.

Located within the 6ix’s largest nightlife and concert destination Rebel Noir more than lived up to the expectations of this invite-only event. Welcoming an eclectic mix of designers, creatives, and fashion-forward individuals for a night of glamour and intrigue, the venue went above and beyond to elevate the experience of those in attendance.

Upon entry, guests were welcomed with complimentary drink tickets, appropriately delivered by aesthetically pleasing and sharply dressed event staff.  Following this warm welcome attendees were ushered upstairs, where the true extravagance of the event became apparent. Complimentary haircuts were provided by one of the cities most applauded barber shops, Cadmen, while Toronto’s all-éclair pastry shop Nügateau was on hand to tantalise and delight individuals with their delicious offerings. Rounding off the nights offerings were a number of wonderful DJ sets and live performances, setting the mood subtly for guests.

As the night ran on, it became clear as to why Toronto is regarded so highly in a creative and fashion environment. The room was a homage to the cities diverse and metropolitan community, with free-flowing conversation between individuals concerned little by each others race, religion, sexual orientation or other identifying features. Of course, littered among the crowd was a number of recognizable faces from the A-list community, but ultimately people seemed more interested by the events accepting aura than a particular individuals social status.

From 11pm onwards, patrons were invited to continue their festivities in Rebel, a multi-purpose nightclub that only opened its doors last year. Formerly The Sound Academy, this spot offered guests a foray of entertainment options, with everything from multiple music rooms to luxurious booths at an individual’s disposal.

Toronto Men’s Fashion Week 2018 is currently in full swing, with runway shows and after parties happening right through to the 11th March. Full details, daily schedules and tickets can be found at www.tomfw.com; and based on the decadent delivery of the Opening Party, it’s a must for any self-respecting fashionista in Toronto.
