The 20th Anniversary of the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo
The long anticipated wait was finally over for many food and wine lovers. The annual Gourmet Food & Wine Expo sponsored by Vines Magazine took over the Metro Convention Centre this past weekend November 20-23rd.
Filled with over 1,500 wine, beer, and spirits from around the globe, guests had the opportunity to taste some of the most fine wine and signature dishes from all over the world. Some of the popular food vendors included Brassaii, Smoking Loon and Modus Ristorante. Returning wine/alcoholic vendors included Palm Bay, Mott’s Clamato Caesar and Jack Daniel’s.
Returning this year was the LCBO booth and Tutored Tasting where guests had the opportunity to try some of the best wine’s while learning from top industry experts.
The VIP vines lounge also returned this year where wine lovers had the chance to sip exquisite wines in an intimate environment, but also had access to a new sampling card exclusively in the VIP area.
The food features returning this year were the Food Network Chef Stage, and celebrity chef signings featuring David Rocco, and Lynn Crawford. Also, the All you need is Cheese stage returns, where guests can sample all sorts of cheeses and enjoy informative complimentary tastings hosted by eh Dairy Farmers of Canada.
New this year, was the Mexico section where guests can sample real style Mexican food and really get the Mexican feel environment.
This event was definitely something I couldn’t miss. The central point of the expo included the Central Entertainment area, where musicians would come in a perform. It’s a fantastic place to relax and enjoy all aspects of the gourmet.
The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo gets better every year, and the countdown for next year is on!
