SiriusXM JUNO KickOff Concert

Hamilton‘s historic Liuna Station was buzzing on the eve of Thursday, March 12. As the first major event of JUNO weekend, the SiriusXM JUNO Award KickOff presented performances by some of Canada’s biggest and best musical talent with proceeds going to MusiCounts, a Canadian youth-based music education initiative.

Burlington band Say Yes warmed up the audience at 8:00 p.m. playing some of their greatest hits including M.M.M. and Fugazi. After their pumped up performance, a few lucky fans from the front row won JUNO Fest wristbands and a pair of tickets to the 2015 JUNO Award Show being held on Sunday, March 15.

By 8:50 p.m. the crowd was wild and ready for more. Three time JUNO Award nominee Tokyo Police Club kept the party going playing their major hits ‘Argentina’, ‘Nature of the Experiment’, ‘Tesselate’‘Your English is good’ and ‘Hot Tonight’. The majority of the crowd was obviously fans since most were singing along to their catchy tunes.

Finally, four time JUNO Award nominee, The Sheep Dogs took the stage at 9:55 p.m. and got the crowd going with some amazing guitar solos. They opened up with their very well-known song ‘Gonna be Myself.’ It was a party from the start of the show till the very last song and was the perfect start to a talent-filled musical weekend.
