Lady Antebellum in Toronto for “Take Me Downtown” Tour

Seven time Grammy award winners Lady Antebellum return to Toronto for the “Take Me Downtown Tour” with opening acts Kip Moore and Grammy award winner Kacey Musgraves. The trio are touring in support of their latest album “Golden“.

Being their first Canadian stop, the band tells the audience that Toronto will always have a special place in their hearts as their breakout music video “Need You Now” was filmed in the city itself.

The band surprised the audience by opening their show running through the crowd and singing their first song, “Compass“, on the sound booth stage. Fans screamed and jumped in joy as they saw Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood closer than ever. After their first song, they continued the rest of the show by running to their main stage where all eyes are on the “Just A Kiss” hitmakers. Compared to any of the previous shows they’ve played in Toronto, this tour proved to be a lot more interactive and personal. Kelley even ran through the audience a few times and took selfies with screaming fans. The trio even brought up a little girl to sing with them on stage and made it a very heartwarming moment.

One particular highlight of the show was when they performed one of their newest songs, called “And The Radio Played“. The lyrics consist of popular country songs throughout the generations, and it was unlike anything I’ve ever heard as fans were screaming at every cover that was being shown on the backdrop.

Lady Antebellum and Kip Moore

Into the near end of the show, the trio brought out Kip Moore and Kacey Musgraves back on stage to perform Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down”.  The trio closed out the show with a three-song encore, including hits “Need You Now” a cover of Avicii’s “Wake Me Up”, and Anna Kendrick’s “When I’m Gone“. It was truly and fun and interactive experience that made me feel connected to the group, as did the rest of the Air Canada Centre that night.
