Kiefer Sutherland returns to Toronto to premier new series Rabbit Hole

Homegrown hero Kiefer Sutherland has been gracing our big and small screens for many years now, starring in shows in movies such as Designated Survivor, 24, and the coming-of-age movie, Stand By Me. Sutherland is back in an explosive new show, premiering on Paramount Plus Canada on March 26th called Rabbit Hole.

Without giving too much away, Sutherland plays a corporate espionage spy who is framed for murder by an unknown, but very powerful force. This force has the ability to influence and control people and populations through technology. Fans of shows like 24 and Black Mirror are definitely going to love this show.

To celebrate the series, Paramount Plus took over the now iconic Scotiabank Theatre in Downtown Toronto to celebrate the show, with Sutherland himself walking the red carpet into the venue. After we all got popcorn and drinks courtesy of Paramount Plus, Sutherland took the stage to say a few words about the series and filming it in his hometown. “We are really proud of this show…but I am also equally proud of the fact that we did make this show in Toronto”. Sutherland thanked his crew, Paramount Plus, for their innovative ways of marketing and releasing this show, and then told us to, “…sit back, relax – but not too much – and enjoy Rabbit Hole”

Rabbit hole

We were treated to the first two episodes of the show, and I can safely say I am hooked. It is a visual delight and has all the elements of a good action-packed show (explosions, espionage, etc.) while effortlessly blending in comedy and some incredibly meaningful moments. The acting in this show is also top-notch, and everyone was casted perfectly. I will say, it was a lot of fun seeing different Toronto landmarks (From the Royal York Hotel to small things like a Green P Parking sign) and seeing how the characters navigated through them. I can see Rabbit Hole being incredibly bingeable, because they ended each episode on an amazing cliffhanger. Long story short, I NEED to know what happens in this series, and I will be getting Paramount Plus to find out what happens (and I recommend you do the same).

After the screening, we got to follow little pixelated bunnies down a few blocks to an exclusive after-party where the drinks flowed, the food was enjoyed by all, and guests got to take in all the amazing details in the decor. They even took secret pictures of us at the screening and displayed them on screens at the party. That was quite a ‘WOW’ moment for me because of course they would think to include such innovative ideas into the decor of the after party of a show talking about technology, and espionage.
