INTERVIEW: Upcoming singer Max River

Canadian singer Max River is about to make a name for himself. River is known for his various YouTube covers such as Use Somebody by Kings of Leon, Don’t you worry child by Swedish House Mafia and his very own single Feel the same way. He has performed at previous Faze events, and he was a guest at the Glow Girl’s 2014 event. We had a chance to get to know River better and ask questions about his music and career.

So just a couple of questions, you just released your newest track “In My Skin” how’s that going?

‘In My Skin’ is doing really well. We actually took a little bit of a break from what we were actually doing because we want to release a full album. Originally the plan was to release a song every two weeks with a video, but then we had a couple of other people come in the picture that was really inspirational and now we’re gonna release an album at the end of April. It doesn’t change anything for people who already bought the all-access pass, they still get the songs, but everything will be released at once.  It also, another big reason we did is because, we have access to quite a few videos over whenever we want to do them, so we wanted to incorporate fans to respond to the videos and shoot them and as you know, we live in Canada, it’s extremely cold. So that’s why we postponed so that we can actually have fans outside and do really cool things but it’s gonna be a really great time.

So what’s the hardest thing about being a musician?

You always have to, I mean I’m really new at the performing as a solo artist thing, you know the reason why I did it is because I was inspired by things that happened in my life. It led me to believe that I really wanted to make people happy and that has resulted in all the things I’m doing now. I made a lot of new friends, a lot of special people come into my life. So if loving what you do never makes it hard, I really don’t feel that this is any sort of drag. It’s phenomenal, I love it totally.

So final question, you’re total eye candy. What do you look for in a girl?

What do I look for in a girl? Someone who’s honest, someone who’s genuine, and also you know just being able to share your thoughts with people and not being judged for it. So that’s it.
