Canadian Music Week presents the 14th annual SiriusXM Radio Indies

Canadian Music Week and SiriusXM Radio team up once again for the 14th annual Indies which took place at the Kool Haus on Saturday, May 10. We had the privilege of interviewing bands backstage such as Hollerado, Poor Young Things and The Glorious Sons. In between interviews, we were able to check out some of the performing acts and watch the awards ceremony. The Strumbellas’ opened the show followed by Ponctuation who actually won the award for Emerging Artist of the Year (French).

Other winners of the night were WildLife who took home Rock Artist/Group or Duo of the Year, while Hollerado took home Live Artist/Group or Duo of the Year. The other big winners of the night were Arcade Fire, who won Album of The Year, and Best Selling Independent Release of the Year. While City and Colour won Artist of the Year, Most played independent artist/group or duo of the year, and Single of the Year.

The night went on with amazing featured performances from Mounties, Born Ruffians, Hollerado, the Hidden Camera, and headliners Little Dragon. The crowd went wild for this amazing night and it was the perfect way to hit off Canadian Music Week with amazing Candian talent.
