Canadian-band Nikki’s Wives rock Toronto with sold-out show

Canadian band Nikki’s Wives — composed of Nikki Whitehead (lead singer), Nate Baylor (drummer) and Dylan Lauzon (guitarist) – hosted a listening party at Toronto concert venue Lee’s Palace on April 5th.

Teaming up with Ghost Rocket Music and A-Minor Presents, the VIP party was hosted by Allison Hagendorf, the Global Head of Rock at Spotify, and had a special DJ set by The Elwins – a fellow Canadian band from Keswick, Ont.

The energy in the venue was palpable as fans sang along to every word of Nikki’s Wives newest song, Lemonade – a song that was inspired by the way that people portray themselves online.

“People are always promoting one type of lifestyle while doing something completely contradictory,” said Nikki on the inspiration behind Lemonade. “But we also realize that, at the end of the day, we’re all just humans trying to find a place in this world.”

Toronto show-goers were also treated to four unreleased songs;

“The new music is way more representative of what we stand for as a band and of who we are individually,” Nikki said when discussing the new music.

In August 2018, Canadian radio broadcaster Alan Cross said that “this will not be the last time you hear of Nikki’s Wives” during the band’s sold-out listening party at the Rivoli, a venue that fits 200.

It has been less than a year since that concert and this Friday, Nikki’s Wives hit capacity at Lee’s Palace – a venue that fits 500.

The band has hit an unstoppable momentum and Nikki has confirmed that new music is what is next for the band as they continue to grow.

Their next single, which follows the success of Lemonade, will be released on April 19th – Nikki’s Wives music can be accessed from Youtube, Spotify, or Apple Music.

Nikki’s Wives also remain active on social media, including on Instagram and on Twitter, where fans can access behind-the-scenes personal content, and sneak-peaks of the band’s newest ventures.
