Toronto Comicon 2017
If you spot someone dressed as a Pikachu on a crowded TTC subway, you know that can only mean one thing; Toronto ComiCon has begun.
This years convention, which ran from March 17th-19th, was packed full of amazing costumes, merchandise and celebrity encounters. With appearances from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’s Brett Dalton to Gotham’s Sean Pertwee and David Mazouz and even a reunion with the original cast of Degrassi Junior High, no matter what fandom you’re apart of; ComiCon was the place to be!
We had a chance to sit in on the Gotham panel with Pertwee and Mazouz to hear secrets from the set of the popular Batman prequel show. The two were very funny, sharing candid stories of how the cast members hang out with each other off set, and also discussing who they’d like to see make an appearance in Gotham. Mazouz shared that he’d definitely like to see The Man of Steel himself, Superman, make a cameo one day!
We also had the chance to take walk through the exhibitor hall where vendors were selling everything from comic books to costumes and also promoting two of the most anticipated movies of the season, Power Rangers (out March 24th) and Ghost in the Shell (out March 31st).
The best part of the convention though was definitely seeing fans “cosplaying” as their favourite characters. From Disney princess to anime characters, fans put so much effort into their costumes that we thought they were the real deal! Take a look at some of our favourite costumes!
If you missed out on this years Toronto ComiCon, make sure you mark your calendars for Fan Expo Canada when it hits town this summer.
