The 2016 Restaurant Canada Show
The largest foodservice and hospitality event returned to Toronto on Feb 28 – March 1 at the Enercare Centre which featured more than 1000 exhibitors from the latest food, beverage, technology innovation and hospitality services. The three day event allowed professionals to network, exchange ideas and try and innovate new things to find the best way to help move the industry forward.
The first booth we checked out was one of our favourites from last year, Island Originals! With a few new flavours this year, we were able to sample to Raspberry pom and strawberry banana which seemed to be the hit flavours during the show.

Another booth that always seems to impress us at every event is ACE Bakery. ACE always has the best presentations and makes people stop and and sample their latest bread. Their breads are created by a special combination of water, flour and salt which allows a natural yeast to develop and enhances the texture. Sandwiches, meals, and snacks are all just that much better served with some ACE artisan bread.
You can’t go wrong with Pasta. Primo had a live chef demonstrating how to make healthy pasta with the right ingredients. It was definitely one of our favourites!

Everyone loves desert. That’s probably why Waffles international was such a hit. Guests were able to take their waffle and customize it with three different types of sauce and even add ice cream to garnish it up. With zero trans fat, these waffles are bound to leave your mouth watering for more.

Aside from the booths, the show featured all sorts of different panels, discussions and demonstrations. Some of the main features included Gusto TV’s casting call for their next chef, Pizza University, and more. We checked out Mixology Unleashed where bartenders from around the world compete to win $25,000 in prize money.
