The 2015 MMVAs top moments
The annual Much Music Video Awards (MMVAs) took over the streets of Toronto on Sunday, June 21. This year, the lovely Ed Sheeran co-hosted alongside the Much Music VJs.
This years line up of artists’ included Shawn Mendes, Fall Out Boy, Nick Jonas, The Weeknd, Tori Kelly, Carly Rae Jepesen, Jason Derulo and more. Fans lined up all day to meet their favourite stars on the red carpet including presenters Adam Lambert, Tyler Posey, Bella Thorne, special appearance by Gregg Sulkin, Cody Simpson, Sarah Hyland, Gigi Hadid, with special appearance by sister Bella Hadid, and more !
We were live on site all weekend to capture some of the top moments over the weekend! Here is our recap:
1. DRAKE?!
What a great surprise. Drake surprised his friend, Canadian hip hop artist P. Reign. While P.Reign was up on stage accepting his award for best hip hop video, Drake came up on in grey sweat suit and surprised the whole crowd.
2. Gigi Hadid’s outfit.
On point. We actually asked Gigi about it. She mentioned how much she loved it. Take a look for yourself, 100% custom.
3. Nick Jonas performing solo on the MMVAs
Over the years, we have seen the Jonas Brothers as a whole taking the stage at the MMVAs. But now, here we are with an all grown up Nick Jonas performing his latest single, “Chains”.
4. Surprise appearance by Gregg Sulkin and Bella Hadid
Toronto is known for having random celebrities in town all the time. Surprisingly people are always in town for unknown reasons. But this time, we had Gregg Sulkin supporting his girlfriend Bella Thorne. Then we had Bella Hadid, who is rumoured to be dating The Weeknd, I doubt she was here to support her sister Gigi Hadid. But really, what a nice surprise! I also want to mention how sweet Bella Thorne is, she went out of the way to find good lighting for this photo.
5. Also a surprise appearance by a random cat with Pete Wentz
Twice. Pete Wentz randomly came up the stage with a cat. The first time was when Sarah Hyland was presenting, then the second time was when Bella Thorne was up on the stage.
Other fun facts:
– Cody Simpson and Gigi Hadid are friends. They were talking quite a bit.
– Hailee Steinfeld is probably the sweetest most genuine person ever. We shared a grill cheese together.
–Dominic Sherwood also showed up with girlfriend Sarah Hyland.
– Echosmith’s Sydney Sierota kept telling us she loves Toronto. and we saw her fan girl over LIGHTS.
–Adam Lambert loves to talk.
–Drake is always, I repeat ALWAYS with his entourage.
