Autumn Hill takes over Steak Stock at Ajax Downs

On June 18-19, Ajax Downs presented its first ever Steak Stock, a country-themed event great food, live activities, horse racing and live music!

Canadian rising duo Autumn Hill, headlined the first night of Steak Stock. Singer-songwriters Mike Robbins and Tareya Green took the stage at 7 P.M. opening with their single “Anchor” from their latest album “Anchor” which just released June 24, 2015.

The duo then took the audience back to their first album by singing songs such as “If She Wants This Town”. Famous for its lyric video, the whole audience knew each and every lyric to this song.

Going back to “Anchor”, Mike and Tareya performed their newest hit “It Don’t Get Better Than This”. The whole set consisted of different songs from different album. The duo then took it to a slower pace by performing one of my favourite songs “Fire”. This track really showcases both the talented artists vocals, though I was pretty disappointed in the sound system.  I could hardly hear Tareya’s voice throughout the whole song, which was very unfortunate because she is so vocally talented.

Going back to singing some new songs from their album “Anchor” they sang other familiar songs like “Mixtape” and “Return Policy”. The duo once again went back to singing hit songs from their debut album “Favourite Mistake “ such as my personal favourite “Can’t Keep Waiting” and “Anything At All”.

Of course one of their last songs they sang was chart topping hit single “Blame” which definitely kept the audience dancing and singing along on this beautiful day. Closing their set with “Memphis” , Autumn Hill sure knew how to keep the crowd smiling and cheering.
