2016 COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION OF ONTARIO AWARDS
For the 4th year in a row, the Country Music Association of Ontario (CMAO) handed out multiple CMAO awards to some of the best talent in Canadian Country music presented by Slaight Music. Jason McCoy hosted the show once again at the Flato Markham theatre for an evening of performances and recognizing some of Ontario’s best and brightest stars.
The night started off with lots of Canadian talent arrivals on the red carpet, then kicking it straight off to Cold Creek County‘s opening performance . The band won multiple awards for the night including Rising Star Award, Group or Duo of the year, and Fan’s choice.
Canada’s brightest new country singer Leah Daniels performed with her new single “Your kiss is Killing Me” and took home the award for Female Artist of the Year.
One of our favourite new upcoming performers Meghan Patrick also took the stage with her single “Bow Chicka Wow Wow”. We’ll definitely be seeing a lot more Patrick this year, as she will be playing Boots & Hearts, Cavendish, and CMT Music Festival this summer.
We can’t forget about country duo and multi-nominees Autumn Hill who performed their newest single “Good night for going nowhere” . Proceeding the night, The Road Hammers closed out the evening with special guest Tim Hicks.
